Below is the sketch from 2001 that inspired this piece. This surreal piece was inspired by a drawing of a woman in an illustrated version of Grimms’ Fairy Tales, and of course by the Guinness moon. I’ve gone back to this piece many times and finally decided that I wanted to create something inspired by it. I’m very pleased with the outcome. I’m proud of how much my skills have improved.
