Soldadera
Soldaderas were military women during the Mexican Revolution. Their roles ranged from commanding officers, to fighters, and caretakers. They fought many battles on and off the battleground. This piece is inspired by the public and private battles all women face every single day.
Surface Noise
One of the main reasons I love vinyl is the sound quality, even the pops and the hiss, also known as “Surface Noise.”
The late John Peel sums it up best, “Somebody was trying to tell me that CDs are better than vinyl because they don’t have any surface noise. I said, ‘Listen, mate, *life* has surface noise.”
